Amy turned 4 a week and a half ago – I don't know how the time goes so fast. It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home....but at the same time it seems like she's been the big girl she is now for quite a while. I remember what a smiley baby she was, and how she'd kick her legs when she was happy...how she has always wanted to do things on her own and not have help.

Now, four years later Amy is just a wonderful, beautiful, exuberant, emotional, enthusiastic girl. She can be completely exhausting with her meltdowns, but she can also be the sweetest, most loving girl, and the craziest fun girl too. She is always surprising us. Right now she is very interested in learning about words – she's always asking us what things spell, and she is pretty good at writing all her letters. She takes great pride in signing cards and drawings, and knows how to write her own first name, plus Reed's, mine and even some of her school friends' names too. She has a bit of a temper and she's not afraid to show it. We're working on getting her to tone that down a bit, and are hoping to have a little less of the throw-yourself-on-the-floor meltdowns.
Amy got three new "Imagination Movers" CDs for her birthday and is really really into them. She sees them singing their songs on TV and then does her best to remember which "Mover" is singing a particular line in a song. She is always amazing me with how she remembers complicated, long song lyrics. It's a lot of fun to see....though I do worry about how long she stays up in her room at night, listening to music instead of falling asleep. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I guess!!
So belated happy birthday to my sweetest sunshine girl – you are just so wonderful and precious, and I love you so much!!!
